...some good news... and then some shit

Andrew took Lilly to the vet after he got out of work today. She said that the wound seems to have scabbed over pretty well and that it should head just fine as is. She also gave Lilly a shot of antibiotic, and gave us some to antibiotic to give to her at home. We take her in again in a week.

At least it's taken care of for now.

Now I have a hospital bill to pay off, too. Yippie! Apparently my insurence dosen't cover ER visits, so when I went back in February it wasen't covered... shit. What kind of insurence plan dosen't have ER coverage? FUCK YOU UHC!!! Now I have to pay off over $1000 cause I was freaking out over having chest pains and I needed someone to tell me that I wasen't going to die.

Damnit... I just want to huddle in a corner and cry.

Lilly (again)

She ripped open her wound... Figures that the vet isn't in the office today. Thankfully the receptonist called the vet to ask her what she wants me to do.

We're suppossed to keep the wound clean with warm soapy water and make sure that she dosen't pick at it... which is hard, considering that she keeps trying to groom it.

Still not sure how we're going to work tomarrow. I don't know if I'm gonna have to try to get a ride in and call off of work, or if Drew's gonna take her in after he get's outta work.

What a day... and I haven't even gone into work yet!

She's home!

Lilly's home... and none to thrilled with me. Oh well, she'll get over it.

Her side had to be shaved for her surgery, so she's half bald. Thankfully, her scar shoulden't be all that bad. We have to keep her in the baby/sick cage for a few days, tho... another thing that she's not happy about.

She's all done!

The vet just called to let me know that Lilly made it through surgery just fine. Very little bleeding, the tumor came out very easly, and there were no problems with the anestishia. They're gonna keep her overnight for observation and then we can pick her up any time tomarrow.

I'm a very relieved rat momma right now.

Julie

...and now Julie's starting to show her age. Mom and I had her out earlier and she was acting perfectly fine... but, I did notice a cataract in her left eye and a lump under her breast bone. At this point I'm debating with myself over weather or not to take her to the vet, or to just let her stay comphortable as long as possiable and then have her put down. Which, considering her age, is just what the vet might tell me.

She turned two in March and rats typicaly live only 2-3 years... I just don't know what I'd do if she passed away. She and her sister, Faye, were the first pets that Andrew and I got together. Faye's only lived to be one, so in a way I'm surprised that Julie's stayed with us this long.

I've gown so used to seeing her buggy little eyes every morning... My poor Julie-Bean.

Rattie Surgery

My poor Lilly has a mamery tumor. We took her to the vet last week to have it looked at. Out vet seems to think that it'll be pretty easy to remove.

So, she's schedualed to go in Firday to have to taken out. This means that she'll have to be put under, and that freaks me out more than the surgery. My little girl, she has no idea what she's in for.

Somewhat rested.

I got a decent nights sleep, but I'm still so tired. Damn.

The Humane Society job is for an overnight attendent. Mon-Thurs 7pm-5:30 am. I still applied for it, but I'm not as excited about it anymore. I don't know how well I'd be able to adjust to an overnight schedual.

I also applied for a credit services job. Not something I'm overly excited about, but it would be a set schedual where I'd still get to see Drew and the benifts are pretty awsome.

Working from 4-8 tonight. I don't wanna go!

I just want to die...

Seriously. I just want to curl up into a small ball and die cause I'm so tired. I closed last night, so I didn't even leave the store until midnight. Hardly got any sleep because I could not fall asleep. I just kept tossing and turning. Then, I had to be at work at 9am today. I was suppossed to be 4-10, but Tina and I switched shifts, so I was 9-6, which was a great plan at the time cause it would give me two extra hours and I'm fighting for damn near every hour that I can get.

Found out yesturday that the Humane Society on Macklind is hiring for full time people. I. WANT. THIS. JOB. Hardcore!

Next week I was only suppossed to work twenty hours. But, I'm taking Jason's Saturday cause I'm desperate for the hours and he wanted the day off to go to his cousin's graduation. This is sad... I get a Saturday off (Saturday's off are like gold at the Depot) and I give it to someone else because I need the money that damn bad.

Fuck. Can I quit being a grown up now? I want to be a kid again.

Circuit City was a bust. They want part time. I put FULL TIME on my app, so I don't have any idea why they called me in.

*sigh*

Good News (Finally)

After work today Jess came to get me and grab a bite. As we were riding to Sweet Tomato's (uber salad bar... yum) I got a call on my cell from a number that I didn't recognize. So, I picked it up, and it was the hiring manager from Circuit City! I have an interview tomarrow at 2pm.

My clothes are in the washer, getting ready to take a shower, and getting my game face on. Wish me luck!!!

Also, Jess and I took a pretty long walk around the park after dinner, so I feel all good and exercised.

Finally, a positive entry!

Andrew and I actually have a day off together, yay!

Went to Dobbs this morning to get the alignment on the car looked at. Andrew hit a roll of carpet on the highway (it fell out of somone's car) and the car's been hanging to the right pretty badly ever since. Turns out that our car's pretty fucked up and the repairs and labor would come up to about 950 dollars!

Yeah, we can't afford that!

I could really use a fulltime job right about now. 'Specially since we have a rat with a tumor that needs to be removed, Drew's student loan payments starting soon, and credit cards to pay off.

But, good news is that I applied for some jobs on Monster.com today, and there's a position open at the company that my mother in law works at, so she's gonna try to get me hired on there.

Funny story:

So, I walked into our bedroom to find Andrew asleep, with the light still on.

When asked why he didn't let me know he wanted to go to bed this conversation took place:

Andrew: "You deserserve this more then anyone else."
Me: "What do I deserve?"
Andrew: "A fort"
Me: "*snort* *snigger*"
Andrew: "Why are you laughing?"
Me: "Because you told me that I deserved a fort. Methinks you were randomly babbling again."
Andrew: "No I wasen't. You asked me why I didn't tell you about the fort."

Weird day

Man, what a strange Saturday. I'm off, but Drew had to go into work to do some overtime. I work up with his alarm, and coulden't get back to sleep. So, I've been up since about 6:30am... at about 9am I gave up on getting back to sleep... sadness.

So, I basically hid in my room, watched TV and played around on the laptop till about 11am. Then, I went out into the living room and said "Hi" to Mom, we chatted for a bit, I laughed over her telling me that Paris Hilton is going to jail, and then I set about cleaning up the kitchen.

In the middle of getting all the yuck off the stovetop, I heard Mom call me from the living room. She sounded panic'd. So, I ran out there and it turns out that as she was starting to clean her rat cages, she found one of her boys, Gomez, dead. Poor baby... He was only about a year old, and Mom said he was fine last night, so we don't know what happened. Tho, it kind of reminds me of when my baby, Gir, died. It was very sudden, and he was fine just the night before we found him.

So, now Mom's all bummed out, and understandably so. It's bad enough to loose a pet when you're expecting it, much less when it comes up out of nowhere.

But, in good news, I got the kitchen and the bathroom are clean, and I just started laundry, so I've accomplished something!

The end of relaxation

Back to work at 4 today. *sigh* I don't wanna go!!!

Yesturday was fun. Jess and I went grocery shopping, looked at condo's with Mike, went to the pet store, and went to the library where I got a new library card, and I took some books and cd's out for the first time in seven years. Hopefully having a library card will save me some money on books and cd's.

I got a new fishie! After Gilbert died I decided that I really missed having a Betta around. Jess picked out a crowntail betta that I named Charlie.

Now, I need to get ready for work. *sigh*
