Phew!

Day two of my three days off! Drew and I got alot done around the apartment today. There were a ton of dishes to catch up on, the kitchen in general was a disaster, lots of trash in our bedroom that needed to go, and rat cages desperatly needed to be cleaned. We got that all done, thankfully. There's still alot of other things that need to be done, but at least we had a start.

Drew and I got wasted last night and watched Invader Zim. That was alot of fun. Now we've opened up a bottle of wine and are getting ready to watch Home Movies. TV on DVD, yay!

*falls over*

I'm on day 6 of 7 days in a row at work. Sooo exhauseted. I keep getting screwed over on my hours, too. I can't pay the bills at 26hours a week. It just doen't work.

I need a new job. Preferably something full time with a set schedual. Home Depot just isn't working with me on ANYTHING.

*sigh*

Grindhouse and a Fluffer Nutter update

Today was pretty cool. Jess and I did some shopping and went to see Fluffer Nutter. He seems to be adjusting well, although he does have a slight growling problem that needs to be worked on. I called the Humane Society today to make the found animal report, but was sent to voicemail. So, I left a very detailed message about Fluffer with my number. I haven't recieved a call from them, so I don't know what's going on with that.

Then, Jess dropped me off at the mall where I met up with Mom, and we went to go see Grindhouse. Gah! I can't remember the last time I had that much fun during a movie! So cheesy, so awful, so addicting! Out of the two movies, I gotta say that I prefered Planet Terror over Death Proof, but both were highly entertaining! I guess I still have that soft spot for zombie movies.

After the movie Mom and I met up with Drew for dinner at the Pasta House. Yum!

Lost Shitzu

I hung out with Ashley tonight. It was a blast. Coffee, boy talk, harrassing Mark, lost puppy's...

Oh, what was that? Yeah, I said lost puppy's. We were driving down Kingshighway, getting ready to turn down Magnolia, when Mark say's from the back seat "Hey! There's a poodle in the street." We look over, and sure enough, there's a fluffy dog running around, just begging to get hit by a car. So, we pulled over, Mark got the dog into the car, and we realize that it's not a poodle, it's a shitzu who had on a collar, but no tags.

First, we tried taking the dog to Ashley's place. But, Ashley's momma said "no" to keeping it because it's a boy dog, and Jasper, the current alpha dog of their house, woulden't get along with him. Drew and I coulden't take him, because then we'd have to put down a pet deposit and start paying pet rent, which we can't afford right now. So, I called my in-law's. I told my mother-in-law what breed we had, and what a sweetie he was, and she told me to bring him over, provided that he wasen't chipped.

So... Ashley and I hit up the humane society's 24hour stray rescue and they scanned him for a chip. No chip. By this time, Fluffer Nutter (as Ashley was calling him) was pretty anxious and was tired of being carried everywhere. Thankfully the nice lady at the humane society gave us a leash for him, so he got to walk back to the car and sniff things. Then, I called the in law's to let them know that we were bringing the dog by.

So, Fluffer Nutter has a home, for now. We're not sure if my Father in law will be to keen on the idea of another dog in the house. In the meantime, I'm calling the humane society tomarrow morning to make a found animal report, so that way if someone calls looking for him, they'll know to contact me.

If you live in St. Louis and know anyone who lost a shitzu in the Kingshighway/Magnolia area, please contact me at
darcy26@yahoo.com, my AIM is NoTicketBiotch, or through myspace at http://www.myspace.com/invadervon .

Here's some pictures of the cutie. I do so wish that we could afford to keep him, he's such a sweetie!

He looks mean in the last pic, but I promise, he's not. It was just the photographer. *lol*

Don't you hate it when...

It's your day off, and you wake up at 6am and can't get back to sleep?

Yeah, me too.

In need of coffee, yo.

Stupid schduals and dead fish.

I woke up this morning to a dead fish. My betta, Gilbert, passed away during the night. But, he wasen't floating upside down or anything, he was at the bottom of the bowl. Weird...

Work (again) today. Our schedual writer is retarded, I swear! Today's schedual for the department was as follows:
John 5am-2pm
Melia 9am-3pm
Jason 10am-4pm
Me 1pm-10pm
Asmir 6pm-12am

...and somehow they wanted me to take my lunch at 5pm?!?! Dumbass's! I had to wait till 6. Poor Asmir's been there only a week, and when he showed up I had to hand him the phone and say "Sorry, you're going to be by yourself for an hour, and there's no one else here." Poor guy. I woulden't have been surprised if he haden't been there when I came back. But, thankfully he was.

Too lite?

Jess dyed my hair today. It turned out muuuuch lighter than either one of us anticipated. I might give it a few days before I decide on redying it or not, tho.

What do you guys think? Is it too blonde?

Our giant compactor at work caught fire last night. We had to evacuate the building and get all the customers out. On the way out of the store I was telling every customer that I saw "We have a small fire in the back of the store. We're evacuating. I'm going to have to ask you to leave." I ran into one idiot in Garden that wanted to know if he could check out before he left.

Um, how about no. The compactor's on fire, moron!

In my rush to get myself and the customer's out, I didn't have a chance to grab my jacket... and anyone in St. Louis right now knows that it's freaking COLD outside. Thankfully, some of my co-workers had the bright idea to get into their car's and turn the heat on. I ended up sitting in Mike T's truck for about an hour before the firemen let us back in the building.

At least it made my dinky four hour shift go by even faster.

In other news, Andrew built a computer! Yay! So, now we have two compy's in the house. He also told me that since the new comp's built, that the laptop is pretty much mine now. Woo! Now I just need to get the laptop looked at and see what's wrong with it. It's booting really slowly and is kinda glitchy. Thankfully Jess's Mike offered to take a look at it.

Dear Billy Corgan...

Why don't you announce a midwestern tour date? I have waited paitently for SEVEN YEARS now to see The Smashing Pumpkins back together.

I waited through Zwan. I waited through the solo album, and even saw you live when you came to St. Louis to promote it. I scoffed at people when they told me that my love and devoition was in vain. You started seeing Courtney Love again (allegedly) AND I STILL LOVED YOU!

Now, please, repay me for my love and deviotion. Please, come to the midwest. I'll gladly roadtrip out to see you. My husband would also appreciate it, as it would make me stop whining.

Yours always,

Von

Happy World Rat Day!

...

I made it through work today, woo! It was only six hours, but still... I didn't feel the need to go home once. FINALLY!

I heard the Pointfest lineup today. Twenty-five bands for twenty-five bucks sounds like a good deal, till you consider that the only act that I'm interested in seeing is The Killers. I don't think it's worth going if I'm only gonna want to see one band. *le sigh*

I remember when I went to Pointfest back in 1999. It was the only one that I ever made it out to. But, man, that lineup ROCKED! Red Hot Chili Peppers, Hole, Blink 182, Citizen King (anyone remember them?), Econoline Crush (who, sadly, never made it that big here in the states), Orgy... and a bunch of others that I can't remember. That was a kick ass day, and I got to participate in a Courtney Love riot! Ah, the good old days...

I feel old.

I hate being poor.

Ahh, rent time! This means that Drew and I are pretty much broke untill Firday. I wish that we got paid on alternating Friday's. It would make life much easier...

If only I haden't bought that purse! Then I'd have 40 extra dollars... but it was too cute to pass up again. *sigh*

My tummy's still mad at me. I think it might be a side effect of the anti-biotics. At least I can tell that they're working now. I just wish that I could avioid the hour long coughing jag in the morning's. Good news is that I should be able to get through work without feeling like I'm going to die tomarrow.

I need to get out of this apartment. Hard to go anywhere without any money, tho. *sigh*

It's gonna be a long night, kids.

I can't sleep. Damn.

Drew made chilli for dinner. It was very yummy, but now my tummy's mad at me and won't let me sleep. Team that up with the lung infection that won't go away, and you've got Von sitting at the compy at 1:30 in the morning, just waiting for the next wave of yuck to hit.

Drew's been so good to me during this whole sick thing. Taking care of me and picking me up from work when I just coulden't stay any longer. Thank god for him. I love my hunny.

That's about all that's going on right now... I hate being sick, and I want to be better, now! *grr* Stupid body...
