R.I.P. Grecio

Grecio died this morning. He was my mom's fisrt rat. I don't know what the deal is, first Ed, then Jess's little Smokey dies, and now Grecio! Not a good time to be a small animal owner, or a small animal for that matter... I know that I'll never forget seeing my mom at my bedroom door, holding Grecio, tears rolling down her face saying "Grecio's dead"
Grecio was about 2 years old. The really sad thing is that Mom noticed him being lethargic last night, so she was going to call the vet today about him.
R.I.P. Grecio... We'll miss our Mr. Mellow Rattie.

One year, baby!

Yay for Bread Co's wi-fi!
Today is mine and Andrew's one year anniversary. He bought me a boquet of hot pink roses, The Princess Bride dvd, and the Secret Of Nihm dvd (which I haven't seen since I was a little kid!). I didn't know that we were exchanging pressies, so I feel really bad that I didn't get him anything. *pout*
He spoils me so...
Later on we're going out to dinner, although he won't tell me where. The suspense!!!

R.I.P. Little guy

My little Ed left us this morning at about 12 am. He succumbed to the respritory problems that had plauged him his entire life.
He died while Andrew and I were holding him. After he left us, I held him, stroked him, and told him that I love him and that he will always be my favorite rattie. We then buried him in the back yard of my mom's apartment buliding.
He was a sweet, considerate, little guy until the very end. While I was trying to clear his lungs in the steamed up bathroom, I asked him to not leave until his daddy got home. Because, while Robert was the one who gave me Ed, Andrew has been the one who helped take care of him and loved him like he was his own. Well, Ed took my last request to him to heart, and passed away about 30 minutes after Andrew got home.
Ed had his second birthday this past January...
Goodbye, Ed. I will always miss you.

Here we go... again!

Andrew and I are hoping to be out of here and into my mom's by tomarrow. Sadly, this means no internet access 'till we get a landline set up, unless I make it to a place with wi-fi (such as Moke's or Bread Co.).
I love you all, but I'm just not gonna be able to check my stuff on a regular basis anymore. *pouts* It's gonna suck, but I HAVE to get outta U-City, and I really do need to be closer to work.

Not so yay... then yay again!

So, moving...
Yeah... It sucks.
I go in to Home Depot Monday for the last of my web baised training. I only have one course left, and that's a FOUR HOUR lesson on how to operate the fork lift. *sigh*
At least today was GOURGEOUS. The weather was sooo lovely. After I woke up and got dressed, I took Gir out and walked him around the back yard. He was sitting on my sholder and his little nose was going crazy! Sooo many new smells!!! He was so damned cute.
Then, after Drew got home from work, we went to Whole Foods, picked up some yummy's to go, and had a picnic in the park. We later went home and... well... Yeah... that part was great.
LATER!!!

*squee!*

Ed seems to be feeling somewhat better today. He's had enough energy to drink water on his own, and he attacked dispenser when we gave him his meds today. Hopefully he has another month or two left in him.
My honey's the bestest! Today he surprised me with the two disk special edition Lady and the Tramp DVD!!!
He also got a new Game Boy Advance SP, so he have his old Game Boy Advace to me. He's currently letting my play his Pokemon game... and...
I'm addicted.
Gotta...
Catch...
Them...
All...

Ed is sitting on my sholder, weezing his poor little head off. He's been doing this since 6 something this morning. I've tried "steaming him" (taking him into the bathroom after the shower's been running), but I don't think it's really helped.
But, thankfully, I got some food and meds into him. I honestly don't know how much longer he's gonna hang in there... poor baby.
While we were in the bathroom I was talking to him, trying to get him to calm down a little and I said:
"I don't want you to go anywhere. But, if you need to, baby, I understand. I love you and I don't want you to be in anymore pain."
...I think he heard me...
He hasen't left me yet. At the moment he seems pretty content to cuddle up on my sholder and focus on breathing.
Who knew that such a little fuzzlet could so easly break my heart?

Education today...

I'm worried about children's education today...
I'm currently home alone, just me, 6 ratties, and the two dogs, George and Sam. Earlier tonight I decided that the dogs might like to go outside.
So, I go outside, put Sam on his chain (since he's a notorious fence jumper), George is already roaming the yard, and I can hear some of the neighborhood kids nearby singing "Who Let the Dogs Out?” Naturally, since the kids are close to our yard, George starts barking. One kid starts barking back, and I can hear another one say "Man, tell that dog to do something!"
Ok... there are so many things wrong with this. First off, what the hell are you going to tell the dog to do? Quit barking? Yeah, I can tell you firsthand, that doesn’t work. Secondly, he's a DOG! You are a stranger near his territory. He's just doing what his natural doggie instincts tell him to do. I could go on and on about the stupidity of this statement, but I don't have that kind of time.
