Fathers Day
Bah, Humbug.
Most of you know I don't really get along with my father, and we don't talk too often. I mainly blame that on my psycho step-mother, but that's another matter entirely.
It is for that reason that this holiday really gets to me... I don't care to go into alot of detail, but it makes me linger on the relationship that my father and I don't have.
So, I sent him an e-card... which is still more than he got me for my birthday last year, or Christmas for that matter.

This kid makes me want to quit taking my birth controll... almost...
You should see Andrew with her. She's totaly got him wrapped around her finger. If we ever have a daughter she's totaly gonna have him whipped.
Much love,

Ford Taurus 1997-2006
...and I thought today was going to blow for a compleatly different reason...
Andrew and I stubled out of our apartment at 4:30 am (had to be in at work at 5, eww) to find that our car was missing. Thats right, our car had been STOLEN
......fuckers...
Needless to say, I didn't make it into work today.
So, we called the cops, filed a repot, and expected to never see our car ever again. Then, about an hour later we got a call. It was the police saying that they found our car. It was in an alley behind Nebraska and Gravois (the ickky side of town, blegh). Apparently the people who stole it hit something, the car was no longer drivable, so they ditched it. When we got there the engine was still running, the front passenger side tire was torn up, and the passengers side door had been hit so that it no longer closed. I'm still not sure just how they got the car started. Ford's are suppossed to be near impossiable to steal, but whatever they did involved compleatly tearing the ignition out.
We got the car pulled over into a Quick Trip parking lot (ahh, Quick Trip, you're always there to save my ass, aren't you?) and waited for Andrew's mom to come pick us up. We also took all of our things out of the car.
The good(ish) news is that becuase the damage to the car from that minor accident back in April, there were talks of the car getting totaled out anyway.
We're in the market for a new car now. We found a '98 Nissan Sentra that looks pretty promising. Hopefull that will work out in our favor, since Sentra's are pretty nice and have a low fuel economy. I still wish that we could find another Saturn like our old one. I loved that car. *sigh*
Goodbye Taurus... you were good to us when we needed you.
The damage:
...and to lighten the mood a little... Andrew and Katie-bug the adorable.
Much love,
Von
